Position Overview

National University, a veteran-founded nonprofit based in San Diego, invites applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor Cybersecurity. The role offers remote work with a hybrid option for San Diego-based candidates.

Position Summary

The successful candidate will have proven excellence or potential in teaching, scholarship, and service. They must develop and teach cybersecurity courses aligned with industry practices, maintain active scholarly engagement, and participate in university service and advisory roles.

Essential Functions

• Teaching: Teach online and onsite courses, develop curriculum, and ensure compliance with academic standards.
• Scholarship: Maintain a productive research agenda and engage in professional development.
• Service: Participate in curriculum oversight, university committees, and community outreach initiatives.

Qualifications

• Terminal degree in Cybersecurity or related field.
• Industry certifications: CISSP, SANS GIAC, CEH, CISM, CISA.
• At least 2+ years of industry experience in cybersecurity.
• Leadership or program management experience preferred.
• Experience with NSA Centers of Academic Excellence programs is a plus.

Special Conditions

Background check required. Annual travel for commencement and cybersecurity events is expected.
