The Role
The Sustainable and Green Finance Institute (SGFIN) at National University of Singapore, supported by MAS and NUS, seeks a candidate to develop research capabilities in sustainable and green finance. This role is ideal for professionals interested in academic or industry research in quantitative analysis, focusing on designing smart databases from non-traditional data sources related to corporate environmental and social impacts.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Design research projects in collaboration with the Institute’s Directors and Research Affiliates.
- Take full ownership of research projects ensuring timely delivery within budget.
- Plan and execute pre-project activities including resource identification and project planning.
- Develop data collection, storage frameworks and smart databases for research use.
- Conduct quantitative analyses, including textual and graphical evaluations of corporate disclosure reports and regulatory frameworks.
- Monitor progress and manage collaborations with research and industry stakeholders.
- Prepare results for industry communications, presentations, and academic journal publications.
- For Research Fellow position: Guide and mentor research analysts and associates.
Requirements
Candidates should have an academic background in computing, information systems, economics, business, finance, or related disciplines. A bachelor’s degree is required; a master’s is preferred, and a PhD is required for the Research Fellow position. Knowledge of financial markets, quantitative analysis, programming skills, and database design is highly desired, along with strong project management and leadership qualities.
