Guided by values such as 'Do what you love. With conviction,' 'Where discovery lives. And impact drives,' and 'Big thinking. Collectively inspired,' NRG fosters an environment where innovation thrives.
We are actively seeking a Senior Research Analyst or Research Manager to join our dynamic Entertainment team. This role focuses on creative testing, partnering with the world's most influential Film, TV, and streaming brands. You will be instrumental in managing end-to-end research initiatives, from crafting surveys to translating complex data into compelling narratives that address crucial strategic questions for our clients. Your work will span a variety of creative and marketing assets, including trailers, TV spots, social videos, key art, titles, messaging, and positioning, ensuring creative impact is maximized. While creative testing is the primary focus, opportunities exist to engage in broader content testing, including research for upcoming Film releases.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about both qualitative and quantitative research, who excels at data visualization, uncovers insights with clarity, and thrives as an entertainment industry subject matter expert.
Your Impact as an Entertainment Market Research Senior Analyst/Manager
- Manage comprehensive quantitative and qualitative research projects, encompassing client consultation, proposal design, methodological approach, pricing, scoping, and the development of questionnaires and discussion guides.
- Transform research data into clear, actionable insights and strategic recommendations through visually engaging, creative, and story-driven reports.
- Collaborate effectively with internal and external operations teams, including programming, fieldwork, facilities, moderators, and data processing, to ensure timely project advancement.
- Cultivate strong client relationships through proactive daily interaction and adeptly address client issues and concerns.
- Drive successful project execution by collaborating with senior team members and overseeing quality control for junior team members at every stage of the research lifecycle, from survey programming logic and questionnaire proofing to number checking and report accuracy verification.
Who We're Looking For
- Experience: 1+ years in consumer insights, consumer research, or a strategy role, with a strong preference for entertainment focus and a significant plus for creative testing experience.
- Education: A B.A./B.S. degree in Social Sciences, Business, Marketing, Market Research, Statistics, Economics, or a related field is preferred; additional degrees are welcomed.
- Passion: A genuine enthusiasm for Film and TV, with an ability to translate audience behavior into actionable strategy.
- Research Practitioner: In-depth understanding and hands-on experience with diverse qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
- Custom Research Expertise: Strong foundation in custom research, including survey writing, data tab review, quality control, and analytical rigor. You must be comfortable with ambiguity, applying core research principles to build smart, strategic approaches from the ground up, and adapting to fast-paced, client-centric environments.
- Communication and Storytelling: Ability to craft compelling narratives from complex data, identify key insights, and articulate strategic recommendations confidently in both written reports and verbal presentations.
- Self-Starter: Internally-motivated individual who drives projects to completion effectively, taking initiative without constant direction.
- Flexible and Resilient: Comfortable adapting to the fast pace of entertainment research, including shifting timelines and occasional off-hours work, while maintaining composure under pressure.
- Client-Centric: Proven experience in nurturing client relationships, understanding their goals, ensuring delivery, and providing strategic guidance.
- Data-Driven: Expert in identifying trends and insights from both structured and unstructured data. Advanced data visualization skills using Excel, PowerPoint, Google Docs, and Slides are essential.
- Data Analysis Techniques and Software: Experience with statistical significance testing, correlation analysis, multivariate analysis (e.g., cluster/segmentation), and conjoint/discrete choice analysis. Experience with statistical packages like SPSS or Q is a plus.
- Curiosity and Critical Thinking: A keen interest in understanding the 'whys' behind consumer behavior, always seeking deeper insights.
- Expert Multitasker: Effectively manages time and multiple competing priorities to consistently meet deadlines, with strong organizational skills.
- Hawk-Eyed Attention to Detail: Possesses exceptional attention to detail, ensuring high levels of quality control and reporting accuracy.
