The Role

As a Senior Consultant Public Affairs, you will serve as a trusted advisor to clients, offering expert counsel in government relations, reputation management, campaign strategy, and stakeholder engagement. You will convert current events, political developments, and corporate news into strategic opportunities while driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day client accounts across multiple industry sectors.
  • Collaborate with senior communications and public affairs leaders.
  • Design, manage, and execute government relations programs and stakeholder engagement campaigns.
  • Lead reputation management, crisis management, and communications campaigns.
  • Monitor political, economic, and social issues to propose strategies.
  • Oversee account management including project work plans and budgets.
  • Contribute to firm-wide business development initiatives.
  • Work across NATIONAL practices for integrated communication services.

Qualifications

Five to eight years experience in government relations, public affairs, or strategic communications, with a post-secondary degree in a related field. Strong written and verbal skills, deep knowledge of Ontario’s legislative processes, and an established network in government and the Ottawa business community are required. Bilingualism is preferred.
