Job Purpose
This role supports the External Affairs team in building National Grid's reputation by enhancing profiles with regional communities through administrative support, resource coordination, and project management.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop external engagement strategies, manage project budgets, and administer grants.
- Plan and track activities with community organizations and influencers.
- Organize volunteer projects with local nonprofits and municipalities.
- Coordinate with regional managers to identify engagement opportunities and provide performance metrics.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local stakeholders.
- Identify and evaluate sponsorship opportunities aligned with company goals.
- Advise senior leaders on community insights.
- Track and report progress against KPIs and update leadership accordingly.
- Attend community and volunteer events including outside regular business hours.
- Support emergency response efforts during extreme weather events or outages.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in community engagement, corporate giving, volunteerism, or nonprofit operations
- Willingness to travel throughout Eastern New York and occasionally beyond
- Strong relationship building and stakeholder management skills
- Experience in managing multiple priorities with high standards
- Excellent communication skills for diverse audiences
- Proficiency in digital tools for tracking engagement activities and administering grants
Salary and Career Path
The salary range is $70K - $80K per year. This role offers a career path with advancement opportunities as you develop technical skills and expertise within National Grid.
