Overview

The Intelligence Officer, National Extradition Unit role with the National Crime Agency (NCA) is a secondment opportunity for current serving police officers or police staff. This role supports the Joint International Crime Centre (JICC) in its mission to combat international crime through covert operations, surveillance, and intelligence support.

Location and Work Arrangement

This position is nominally based in central London with a contractual move to Stratford, East London from November 2025 – March 2026. Initially, duties may be performed from Vauxhall or another temporary location. No relocation payments apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and allocate extradition cases from the Case Management Unit.
  • Deploy covert intelligence functions in support of operational activities.
  • Provide expert guidance on extradition and covert tactics to law enforcement.
  • Manage intelligence products in line with the National Intelligence Model.
  • Liaise extensively with police forces and partner agencies across England and Wales.
  • Travel nationally and internationally on short notice as required.

Requirements and Skills

Candidates must be a current serving police officer or equivalent police staff with experience in surveillance, communications data, and managing applications under RIPA 2000 and IPA 2016. A valid passport, flexibility for unsociable hours, and willingness to travel are essential.
