About the ESG Data Analyst Role

Join the Corporate Sustainable Development team at National Bank of Canada as an ESG Data Analyst. In this role you will support data collection, controls, and analysis to improve ESG data quality, assist with audit and disclosure processes, and contribute to dashboard development for ESG indicators.

Main Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders and data owners for data collection and analysis.
  • Improve internal controls and quality of ESG information.
  • Build and update dashboards for monitoring ESG KPIs.
  • Provide ad hoc analysis for decision-making and regulatory requirements.
  • Support the audit process by preparing and verifying ESG data.
  • Help integrate and develop analytics solutions for ESG data management.
  • Apply data quality, confidentiality, and governance principles.

Your Team

You will work with a Canada-wide, multidisciplinary team known for its agility, rigour, and innovative approach to supporting the Bank's ESG strategy. Training and development opportunities are abundant, including access to the Data Academy, language programs, and mentoring.

Prerequisites

  • University degree in sustainability, finance, accounting, risk management, business intelligence or related field.
  • 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in data analysis, internal audit, carbon accounting, or ESG disclosure.
  • Experience in designing/implementing internal controls.
  • Knowledge of ESG disclosure frameworks (GHG protocol, ISSB, CSRD, OSFI Standard B-15) is an asset.
  • Familiarity with an ESG disclosure platform is a plus.

Location

The position will be based in Calgary, Edmonton, Montréal, Toronto, or Vancouver, depending on the candidate selected.
