Position Summary
The Supervisor, Denials and Appeals will supervise a team of Revenue Cycle Analysts and Denials and Appeals Specialists focused on insurance discovery for claims and denial management. This role ensures consistency and accuracy of third-party payor billing information and improves the claims processing and revenue recovery process.
Primary Responsibilities
- Supervise team by monitoring production and quality against goals.
- Provide orientation, ongoing training, and performance feedback.
- Liaise with internal departments to ensure accurate billing processes.
- Act as escalated response for concerns and enforce policy.
- Manage the entire process from insurance verification to collection.
- Monitor adherence to policies and perform regular audits.
- Develop, coach, and manage staff in a high production environment.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Thorough knowledge of healthcare reimbursement (government and private payers).
- Ability to analyze payments, diagnose issues, and report findings.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong proficiency in Excel, PowerBI, and Google Enterprise Suite.
- Understanding of the claim life cycle, payer contracts, and denial research.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business, healthcare administration or similar. Minimum 2 years of direct and supervisory experience in insurance denials/appeals and claims management software.
Compensation & Location
Based in Austin, TX. Salary ranges from $63,700 to $85,000 USD depending on experience and qualifications.
