Role Overview
The successful candidate will be an energetic, empathetic, and student-focused instructor with a demonstrated commitment to motivating learners and supporting academic achievement. They will bring strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, along with proven experience delivering adult education in a postsecondary or skills-based learning environment. Proficiency with a variety of computer programs and systems, as well as the ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively, is essential. The successful candidate will also possess solid, relevant industry experience and be committed to championing student success through academic excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Instruct assigned courses using case-based learning, problem-based learning, technology-supported learning, and other instructional and assessment strategies.
- Provide qualitative and quantitative feedback to students on a variety of authentic assessments.
- Inspire students to become business and community leaders.
- Leverage industry expertise to develop and deliver curriculum as part of a subject area team.
- Incorporate emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, to enhance teaching effectiveness, curriculum relevance, and student engagement.
- Follow and adhere to NAIT policies, procedures, and academic regulations.
- Perform non-teaching professional administrative duties such as course coordination, assessing transfer credits, and contact with current/potential students.
- Contribute to program and school efforts, including program curriculum review and renewal, participation at meetings or town halls, support for recruitment and marketing events, and generally helping to build a high-functioning team founded upon collaboration and respect.
- Research and build communities of professional practice.
- Engage in scholarly activity that involves the intentional creation, integration, and dissemination of knowledge that is subject to polytechnic peer review.
- Liaise with business and community stakeholders.
- Promote the program to prospective students and other stakeholders.
- Support the school by engaging in institutional service as required.

Qualifications
- A related Doctoral or Master’s degree with considerable related industry experience is required. A combination of academic credentials and discipline-specific professional certifications will also be considered.
- Previous instruction and/or curriculum development experience at the post-secondary level may be an asset.
- Evidence of scholarly or applied research activity, or a strong commitment to pursuing research within a teaching-focused environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in leadership, organizational theory and design, public administration, and/or indigenous studies with the ability to connect theory to practice in real-world business contexts.
- Comprehensive understanding of current and emerging trends in management, including approaches that advance organizational effectiveness, leadership, reconciliation, and inclusive organizational development.
- Equivalencies may be considered: a combination of academic credentials and discipline-specific professional certifications will also be considered.
- Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services (WES), International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS), or the Comparative Education Services (CES).
Remuneration
Will be commensurate with education and experience. Refer to the salary range noted on this posting, plus a comprehensive benefits package. Note: Starting salary for new instructor hires averages mid-range based on education and experience.
Classification: Instructor This position is covered by the NAIT Academic Staff Association (NASA) Collective Agreement. The compensation range for this job posting is : $69,189.78 - $120,361.23
