Overview

The Building Engineer Supervisor at NAI Hallmark leads the facilities team in ensuring high quality work and customer service. Reporting to the SVP of Property and Construction Management, the supervisor is responsible for planning, implementing, coordinating, and supervising all mechanical operations, maintenance, communications, energy management, and labor development programs for assigned properties.

Essential Functions

  • Supervise and develop facilities staff: hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership in developing facility safety programs.
  • Inspect building systems regularly to identify and resolve issues.
  • Assist in maintenance and engineering issues as required.
  • Recommend and implement preventative maintenance improvements.
  • Develop and maintain maintenance and safety procedure manuals.
  • Conduct building-related systems and equipment training.
  • Stay updated on HVAC, fire/life safety, plumbing, and electrical trends.
  • Maintain clear communication with vendors, managers, and tenants.
  • Oversee GPS, vehicle cameras, and facility driver maintenance programs.
  • Respond quickly to emergency situations such as fires and equipment failures.
  • Perform unscheduled maintenance calls including plumbing, electrical, and structural repairs.
  • Manage inventory control programs and procurement of parts and supplies.
  • Ensure compliance with codes, government requirements, and company directives.
  • Participate in routine meetings and performance reviews.

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Experience in plumbing, electrical repairs, and mechanical maintenance
  • Knowledge of HVAC principles, basic electrical, and plumbing
  • Mechanical aptitude and excellent customer service skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize work and work as a self-starter and team player
  • Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record
  • Hands-on experience with hand and power tools
  • Ability to lift 50 to 100 pounds and climb ladders
  • Pass drug screening and criminal background checks
