Senior Structural Engineer / Design Lead

About the Role

In collaboration with your colleagues in expert teams, you will work on improving and making public spaces safer, such as new quay walls (Singel), renovating bridges (Magere brug) or locks (Groote Zeesluis, Muiden), roads (N200, Amsterdam-Halfweg), and bicycle parking garages (Kleine Gartmanplantsoen, Amsterdam).

Our clients include the Municipality of Amsterdam, Waternet, Rijkswaterstaat (Dutch Directorate for Public Works and Water Management), project developers, and contractors.

What you do as a Senior Structural Engineer / Design Lead

As an Infrastructure Structural Engineer, you will work in multidisciplinary project teams on various types of structures such as bridges, tunnels, locks, viaducts, noise barriers, and numerous other civil engineering structures. You will design the constructive form and dimension the structures. You will do this in the various design phases; from preparation to planning and execution (supervision).

In short, you will work with your colleagues on a diversity of structures in various environments, from Preliminary Design to Execution Design. Because you work on varied projects, you can further broaden your expertise in areas such as tunnels, bridges, and retaining structures. You can also explore various innovative materials.

You are capable of working independently but also enjoy working in a team. You will develop authority within the company and the field. We offer you the opportunity to develop into a top-level structural advisor, and we value your (future) registration in the Structural Engineers Register.

Internationally, through Tunnel Engineering Consultants (TEC), we are involved in interesting projects like the Fehmarnbelt Tunnel, and with NACO (part of Haskoning), we work on international airports.

• A drive to develop into a top-level structural advisor within our team in the coming years;
• HBO/WO degree in Civil Engineering with a structural specialization;
• Knowledge of / affinity with recalculations of civil structures and application of the RBK (Rekennorm Betonconstructies – Calculation Standard for Concrete Structures) is a plus;
• Good reporting and communication skills in Dutch and English.
