Overview of the SMB Owners for Google Workspace AI Feature Evaluation Project
We are seeking genuine U.S.-based Small Business (SMB) owners / Self Employed, such as Real Estate Agents, Marketing Consultants, Ad Agencies, and Service Providers, to support the evaluation and improvement of new AI features integrated into Google Workspace. This project partners with active business owners to test AI capabilities within their existing professional environments, ensuring that AI-generated outputs in Gmail, Docs, Sheets, and Chat are relevant, accurate, and supportive of real-world business workflows.
Your Role and Responsibilities
- Execute AI Rating Assignments: Complete 2 specific rating assignments involving your daily business communications and documentation.
- Validate AI within Workspace: Test features across Google Docs (collaboration/comments), Sheets, and Chat to verify utility in a live business context.
- Apply Privacy Best Practices: Anonymize sensitive client or financial data during the evaluation (e.g., renaming "$10,000" to "$123" or "John Smith" to "ABCD") while maintaining context.
- Adhere to Pilot Timelines: Commit to a 48-hour turnaround time for assignment submission post-training.
This is a paid pilot engagement (approx. 4 hours total) where you will be given 2 Tasks to rate designed for active business owners, not a full-time employment role.

Prerequisites for Participation
- English speaking
- Use Gmail as a communication tool for their business
- If using @gmail.com account, enrolled in Workspace Consumer Labs or willing to do so
- If using non-gmail.com account (business account on G Suite/Workspace), enrolled in Workspace Alpha or willing to do so
- Smart features enabled
Qualification Criteria
- The account should have been used for more than 2 months
- The business should involve at least 2 contacts excluding themselves
- The account should use at least one non-Gmail Google Workspace application (Chat, Docs, Sheets, Calendar) for their business; and for Docs and Sheets, they use comments for communication rather than a pure content/data container.
- The account should receive at least 10 email threads related to the business/project per week
Compensation
You will be paid a fixed one-time fee for the task and will get to explore new Gemini features.
Selection Process
The shortlisted candidates will have a 15-minute screening call.
