Overview

The Information Systems Assistant position is a temporary role with the United Nations, operating under the myGwork - LGBTQ+ Business Community. This position is part of the Customer Support Team in the Information Technology Service at UNOV/UNODC in Vienna, Austria.

Responsibilities

  • Perform office support and administrative functions.
  • Assist with software and hardware equipment support.
  • Provide technical guidance remotely for call support.
  • Deploy Windows OS updates, patches and support service requests.
  • Handle equipment installation, backups, user data restore, and inventory tasks.
  • Assist with data collection, analysis, and report preparations.
  • Support conference task organization and visualizations for communication material.
  • Occasionally lift/move equipment and work in shift assignments including evenings or weekends.

Competencies and Requirements

Candidates should demonstrate professionalism, client orientation, and teamwork. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Work experience of at least 3 years in administrative/office support functions is expected, or a minimum of 1 year with a first level university degree. Familiarity with PC Operating Systems, MS Office, Lotus Notes, Office 365, and LAN connectivity is essential. Experience in delivering Tier 1 PC/laptop support and preferably within international organizations is advantageous.

Language and Assessment

The working language for this role is English. Candidates may be required to undergo an assessment exercise followed by a competency-based interview. Detailed language requirements follow UN standards.
