About Wise and the Role
Wise is a global technology company on a mission to make moving and managing money easier. As part of the team, the FinCrime Investigator - AML Investigations will safeguard Wise and its customers from financial crime by investigating and analyzing customer accounts, transactions, and activities.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth investigations of suspicious activities.
- Analyze transactions and customer behavior for illicit patterns.
- Evaluate alerts and gather supporting documentation such as KYC records.
- Prepare detailed investigation reports with findings and recommendations.
- Act as escalation point and mentor team members in FinCrime techniques.
- Collaborate with product and engineering to improve detection systems.
- Maintain compliance with AML/CTF regulations and internal policies.
- Communicate professionally with internal stakeholders and customers.
- Participate in ad-hoc projects and refine processes.
Qualifications
Candidates require at least 2 years of operations or compliance experience with a focus on financial crime or AML processes. Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills are essential. Flexibility with work hours and a proactive, independent work style are required.
Nice To Have
- Bachelor’s in Finance, Business, Law, or related fields.
- Experience in fintech or global financial institutions.
- Relevant certifications such as CAMS or CFCS.
- Knowledge of SQL or other data analysis tools.
Additional Role Details
This position offers an hourly pay of 31 USD, based in Austin, USA with a hybrid work arrangement. Applicants must be authorized to work in the US. Submit your resume and cover letter in English for fair review.
