About the Role

Murphy Tower Service LLC, a family-owned business, is seeking a Telecommunications Tower Technician. In this role, you will perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair services on telecommunication towers and related equipment ensuring optimal network performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work on towers, antennas, radios, coax, and other wireless equipment.
  • Respond to and complete service tickets per customer specifications and deadlines.
  • Assess issues, verify the scope of work, and communicate modifications to supervisors.
  • Secure site access, permits, and necessary equipment including lifts, cranes, and safety gear.
  • Conduct on-site testing, troubleshooting, and equipment swaps to restore service.
  • Maintain accurate documentation including photos, test results, and service logs.
  • Adhere strictly to safety standards and participate in safety audits.
  • Maintain cleanliness and proper organization of vehicles, tools, and job sites.
  • Handle, store, and return customer-owned equipment appropriately.
  • Provide support and collaborate with fellow technicians.

Work Environment & Conditions

This position requires travel (50–75%) to various job sites, predominantly during weekdays. You will work outdoors in varying weather conditions, at heights, and in a typical field service environment.

Requirements

  • 2–3 years of telecommunications tower experience.
  • Ability to climb towers and work at heights in diverse weather conditions.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for RF, fiber, and electrical systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer and mobile app proficiency for ticketing and reporting.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training preferred.
  • Relevant certifications such as OSHA 10/30, First Aid/CPR, and RF Awareness are a plus.
