The Opportunity

Murdoch Children’s Research Institute (MCRI) is seeking a motivated Biostatistician Research Assistant for a 12-month full time contract with potential extension. This role offers a unique opportunity to use biostatistics expertise on the landmark Trans20 longitudinal study, which supports the health and wellbeing of trans and gender diverse young people.

Your Responsibilities

  • Conduct statistical analysis and data processing for observational studies.
  • Contribute to research protocol design and analysis plans.
  • Prepare content for peer-reviewed publications and presentations.
  • Support skill development of students and staff.
  • Collaborate with researchers, clinicians, and community stakeholders.
  • Uphold ethical research standards and data confidentiality.

What We Need From You

  • Postgraduate degree in biostatistics, applied statistics or related field.
  • Strong statistical computing skills with Stata and/or R.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work independently and in team settings under deadlines.
  • Interest or experience in transgender health is highly regarded.
