Job Overview

The Claims Examiner Liability at MSI manages third-party claims involving bodily injury and property damage under homeowner's and renter's insurance policies nationwide. This role requires handling low to moderate complexity claims from inception to resolution while providing superior service.

Primary Responsibilities

• Manage claims from assignment to resolution including settlement negotiations.
• Evaluate policies, determine coverage, and draft necessary communications.
• Investigate claims, gather information, and determine potential exposures.
• Set and monitor claim reserves while controlling claim expenses.
• Manage defense counsel, attend mediations, and oversee expert engagements.
• Communicate with stakeholders, maintain file notes, and mentor junior examiners.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Strong communication, analytical, investigative, negotiation, and writing skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new systems are essential.

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience with 5+ years of casualty claims adjusting experience is required. A state adjuster license is mandatory with additional licenses being a plus. Insurance designations are preferred.
