Assistant Vice President Technology

About the Role

mPokket is seeking an experienced Assistant Vice President of Technology to lead and manage multiple engineering teams. This role is pivotal in defining and driving the technology roadmap, ensuring high-quality product delivery, and fostering innovation. You will work closely with Product, Design, and Business teams to achieve key objectives and establish engineering best practices.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with the Product team and Business stakeholders to achieve key objectives.
• Lead and manage multiple engineering teams, including Engineering Managers, Tech Leads, and Developers.
• Define and drive the technology roadmap aligned with business goals.
• Ensure high-quality product delivery, scalability, and performance of applications.
• Work closely with Product, Design, and Business teams to deliver innovative solutions.
• Establish engineering best practices, coding standards, and development processes.
• Drive architecture decisions for scalable and reliable systems.
• Manage resource planning, hiring, and team development.
• Monitor project progress, mitigate risks, and ensure timely delivery.
• Implement and improve DevOps, CI/CD, and Agile methodologies.
• Mentor senior engineers and engineering managers to build strong leadership within teams.
• Manages software development by setting requirements, goals and timelines.
• Design strategies for future development plans based on the company's overall objectives and resources.
• Monitor reliability, performance of all internal systems, and suggest improvements.
• Ensure compliance with security regulations.
• Implement innovative technologies.
• Coordinate with external stakeholders for new integrations and tools.
• Talent hunting and team growth management.
• Mentoring and Interfacing.
• Creativity and trouble-solving skills.

Requirements

• Started as a Software Engineer and worked with a wide range of technologies, especially with the modern open-source stacks.
• Work Experience as an AVP Engineering/Director or in a similar leadership position at an engineering department.
• Experience building large-scale distributed software/systems.
• Hands-on, in-depth experience with architecture, application development, QA and DevOps.
• Extensive experience with both cloud and on-premise technologies.
• Big Data/ML experience is a plus.
• Good understanding of agile methodologies.
• Leadership abilities with a strategic mind.
• Ability to mentor and grow engineering talent.
• Excellent project management skills.
