The Opportunity
As a Staff Engineer, Front End Desktop, you will be a domain expert focused on developing user-focused interfaces and high-quality front-end solutions. Working with a team of talented engineers, you will tackle ambiguous problems in user experience, performance optimization, and architectural design while mentoring teammates and driving technical strategy.
What You’ll Do
- Lead technical initiatives and coordinate cross-team efforts.
- Own projects spanning new feature development and process improvements.
- Collaborate with senior engineers and product managers to set technical direction.
- Work with UX Engineers to implement accessibility standards (WCAG, ARIA).
- Establish scalable front-end architecture and guidelines.
- Write high-quality, testable code and participate in code reviews.
- Mentor engineers and foster a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Bring
- 10+ years of experience in front-end software development.
- Expertise in modern vanilla JavaScript and ECMAScript specifications.
- Strong background with JavaScript frameworks such as React, Vue, or similar.
- Deep knowledge of HTML5, CSS, accessibility, and system architecture.
- Experience with cross-platform development and modern version control systems.
- Proven technical leadership and mentoring abilities.
- Excellent communication and a collaborative mindset.
Bonus Points
- Experience in open-source contributions or leadership.
- Familiarity with Python or other programming languages.
- Ability to engage with a global community and support diverse contributors.
- Proficiency in additional languages such as French, German, or Japanese.
