The Opportunity

As an Operations Supervisor at Mountain Valley Express, you will report to the Service Center Manager and oversee profitable and efficient warehouse operations. You will manage a shift or section within the service center, ensuring all KPIs are met while leading, developing, and inspiring your team to foster innovation and operational excellence.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Terminal Operations: Oversee daily workflow, scheduling, and staff organization.
  • Safety & Compliance: Monitor employee safety and ensure proper loading/unloading procedures.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor, train, and develop staff for career growth.
  • Hiring & Training: Recruit and onboard new warehouse employees.
  • Performance Management: Conduct evaluations and promote accountability and recognition.
  • Operational Efficiency: Collaborate with Dispatch to optimize trailer loading and efficiency.
  • Reporting: Complete management reports and perform maintenance activities.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Implement federal and state safety regulations in line with OSHA and DOT guidelines.

Requirements

Education: High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.

Experience: Minimum of five years of relevant industry experience; supervisory experience strongly preferred.

Skills: Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal skills, accountability, thorough knowledge of warehouse operations, policies, and safety regulations, and a customer-oriented mindset.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $68,500 - $72,000 annually, based on experience and location.

Classification: Exempt

Work Environment

This full-time, at-will, onsite position is located at the Terminal in Sacramento, CA. Work hours are Monday through Friday. The role requires frequent walking, occasional desk work, and the ability to lift/move up to 20-25 pounds.
