Overview

The Staff Nurse - Outpatient OB/GYN at Mount Sinai Health System is a per diem role providing safe, quality care. This role is for a Registered Professional Nurse, skilled in evidence-based practice and patient centered care.

Responsibilities

Patient Care: Delivers care using nursing process and critical thinking. Assesses patients, collaborates with the interdisciplinary team, educates patients and families, and manages assignments in a modified primary nursing model.

Patient Experience: Implements Mount Sinai Relationship Centered Care practices including Admission Welcome, Bedside Shift Report, and Purposeful Hourly Rounding. Establishes therapeutic patient relationships and initiates service recovery when needed.

Quality and Safety: Practices safe and efficient care, participates in quality improvement projects, and adheres to institutional safety standards. Documents care accurately using the hospital's IT systems.

Operations: Performs charge nurse duties as assigned, coordinates supplies, and escalates resource deficits. Ensures cost-effective care and complies with hospital, regulatory, and legal requirements.

Professional Development: Supports clinical colleagues, advances nursing competence, serves as a role model, and participates in shared decision-making and research activities.

Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited Nursing program with a BSN or ADN (with BSN matriculation). Current registration as a Registered Nurse in New York State, BLS certification, and OB/GYN experience required.

Compensation

This per diem role offers an hourly rate of approximately $82.63. Actual compensation depends on experience, education, and operational need.
