Patient Care
Nurses deliver care by applying the nursing process and critical thinking skills. Key activities include assessment, intervention, delegation, patient teaching, and effective communication with patients, families, and the care team.
Patient Experience
Implements Mount Sinai Relationship Centered Care initiatives such as the Admission Welcome, Bedside Shift Report, and Purposeful Hourly Rounding (PHR). Engages in service recovery and escalates concerns as needed.
Quality and Safety
Practices patient-centered care using safe, clinical skills and compliance with institutional guidelines. Participates in quality improvement projects, process enhancements, and documentation for performance improvement.
Operations
Performs charge nurse duties, coordinates resource allocation, and documents care accurately while ensuring efficient patient throughput.
Professional Development
Supports colleagues, participates in professional councils, and serves as a role model and preceptor. Engages in continuous learning and evidence-based practice.
Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited Nursing program (BSN preferred) or ADN with BSN matriculation. Registered Nurse licensed in New York State with certifications such as BCLS, ACLS, and PALS as applicable.
Compensation
Salary is $68.593 hourly with additional benefits based on factors including experience and education.
