Overview
The Registered Nurse Intensive Care Unit Part-time Nights is responsible for providing safe, competent, quality care for critical patients in the ICU. The role involves comprehensive patient assessments, planning, intervention and evaluation, ensuring effective and timely care.
Responsibilities
As a Registered Nurse in the ICU, you will:
- Provide IV Therapy, phlebotomy, medication administration, and documentation.
- Interpret EKGs, manage arrhythmias per ACLS protocols, and intervene in cardiac arrest.
- Use the nursing process for assessment, planning, and evaluation of patient care.
- Implement pain management and manage complications of diseases and surgical procedures.
- Coordinate care activities including teaching, rounding, and discharge planning.
Qualifications
Applicants should have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred), a valid Registered Nurse License and registration in New York State, and at least 3 years of telemetry Med/Surg experience. Critical care and ICU experience are required along with BCLS/ACLS certification and EKG skills.
