Overview

The Registered Nurse - Emergency Department at Mount Sinai Health System is responsible for providing safe, competent, and quality care to Emergency Room patients. This role involves assessing, diagnosing, planning, and intervening in health problems while evaluating patient responses to care.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Perform nursing assessments using interviews, examinations, and record reviews.
  • Develop goal-oriented care plans with patient and family input.
  • Administer nursing actions aligned with medical regimens and hospital procedures.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams and delegate tasks appropriately.
  • Utilize technical skills including EKG interpretation, IV therapy, remote telemetry, and triage.

Qualifications

Applicants must hold a Registered Nurse License and current registration in New York State with BCLS/ACLS/PALS certification (AHA). A BSN is preferred along with a minimum of 2 years’ RN experience in emergency or critical care. Skills in critical thinking, cardiac assessment, and emergency interventions are required.
