About the role
Postdoctoral Fellow
The Kyprianou lab at Mount Sinai Health System is an NIH-funded, well-established research group focused on translational research in urologic oncology. The successful candidate will utilize a broad range of techniques, including bioinformatics, immunohistochemical analysis of tumor tissue, pre-clinical PDX models, transgenic mouse models, isolation of extracellular vesicles from serum, flow cytometry, and molecular biology techniques (RT-PCR, confocal microscopy). The primary goal is to define the underlying mechanisms of metastatic, therapeutically resistant tumor emergence and identify extracellular vesicles (EVs) as biomarkers of tumor progression.
As part of academic training in translational cancer research, the post-doc will participate in urology research meetings, journal clubs, and research seminar series at the Tisch Cancer Institute, under mentor guidance. The post-doc is also expected to write and submit research articles for publication in urologic oncology under the mentorship of Dr. Kyprianou. Experimental work is anticipated to be performed primarily at Annenberg, Floor 24.
Responsibilities
The post-doctoral fellow will undertake basic and translational research projects in urologic oncology. The Kyprianou lab investigates novel therapeutic targeting in metastatic, castration-resistant prostate cancer and renal cancer to overcome advanced disease. In collaboration with Dr. Navneet Dogra’s lab, the team is identifying novel liquid biopsies and biomarkers of therapeutic resistance (exosomes).
