Overview
The Clinical Nurse at Mount Sinai Hospital provides safe, competent, quality care in the SpineCenter as a Registered Professional Nurse. This part time, night shift position involves patient care, education, and coordination with an interdisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
Patient Care:
- Deliver care using relationship centered model and nursing process.
- Assess patient care needs and apply critical thinking.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement care plans.
- Educate patients and caregivers about care transitions and health promotion.
Patient Experience
Role model Mount Sinai Relationship Centered Care through bedside reporting, hourly rounding, and care coordination. Establish therapeutic relationships and initiate service recovery for concerns.
Quality and Safety
Practice safe, efficient, patient-centered care with process improvement strategies and compliance with institutional standards.
Operations
Perform charge nurse duties, coordinate inventory and resources, and document accurately to facilitate effective patient throughput.
Professional Development
Advance clinical competence, serve as a role model, preceptor and contribute to nursing research and improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited Nursing program, BSN or ADN with BSN matriculation, valid NY state RN license, and relevant certifications (BCLS, NRP, ACLS, PALS) are required. Experience is valued and new graduates may qualify if enrolled in a BSN program.
