Mission Summary
As a Software Engineer, Simulation Infrastructure at Motional, you will advance our offboard testing pipeline, develop automation for simulation tests, interface with hardware testing, and improve our AV software release process. Your work will span simulation cloud infrastructure, local hardware integration, and cross-team code interfacing.
What You'll Be Doing
- Support Cloud Simulation Infrastructure including scaling, cost analysis, and simulation execution.
- Automate Hardware in the Loop (HIL) bench health and accessibility.
- Implement release management automation for compatible software builds.
- Collaborate with operations to resolve release blockers and enhance testing infrastructure.
- Data mine for insights to optimize tools and processes.
- Ensure HIL bench maintenance and pipeline success.
- Improve UI/UX and visibility for Simulation and Software Release processes.
- Enhance triage automation and processes.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ Years working in Linux
- 3+ Years writing Python
- 3+ Years with databases (SQL, Postgres, Trino)
- 2+ Years with C++
- 2+ Years using Git and CI/CD
- 1+ Years with hardware, sensors, and low voltage electrical systems
- 1+ Years using AWS Cloud
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Experience in cross-functional development teams
- BS or MS in relevant technical fields
Bonus Points
- Hands-on simulation experience
- OSC2, YAML simulation scenario experience
- Gitlab CI/CD design and programming
- Experience with Docker containerization
- Autonomous driving experience
Working Conditions
This is a hybrid role based in Pittsburgh, PA or Las Vegas, NV. It requires some on-site HIL work while supporting cross-team collaborations, with necessary knowledge of electrical safety.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this role is approximately $130,000 to $170,700 USD, with potential bonus or company equity. Motional offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401k, and more.
