About the role
About Motion
Motion is building the command center for creative strategists: an AI-native platform that bridges the gap between performance marketers and creative teams, so they can uncover what’s working, what’s not, and ship more winning ads across platforms like YouTube, LinkedIn, Meta, and TikTok.
We’re at the forefront of AI as the foundation of Motion. Motion now automatically analyzes and organizes creative at scale, surfaces competitor trends, and is rolling out a persistent creative strategy agent that retains context, runs workflows, and integrates with the tools teams already use.
Today, Motion is trusted by some of the world’s top e-commerce and direct-to-consumer brands and agencies (including Vuori, True Classic, The Farmer’s Dog, and HexClad) and has analyzed over $14B in media spend. When leading brands want to understand their creative performance, they turn to us.
Our founders have built successful companies before, but what we’re most proud of is who chose to build again with them. 10% of our team worked with our founders at their previous company and followed them to Motion. That kind of loyalty doesn’t happen by accident — it’s built on trust, strong culture, and a shared belief in what we’re creating.
The people building Motion are deeply embedded in where AI and our industry is heading, and obsessed with closing the gap between what's possible and what's actually shipping in product.
We're a 70+ person team, backed by a $30M Series B, with consecutive record revenue quarters and real momentum. If you want to work on a hard problem, with people who've done it before, and a product that customers genuinely love - we'd love to connect!

About The Team & Our Attitude
Our Sales Development team is new and will sit at the front of the pipe. We're builders. We multi thread, we ship outreach worth replying to, and we bring real opinions on what works, not just execution. We move fast, test hard, and kill what doesn't earn its keep. We are grinders and we embrace it. Every meeting we book is pipeline that wouldn't exist otherwise, and we build it consultatively, never transactionally.
You'll be working directly with Rainier, Motion's top-performing Mid Market AE in 2025 (2x quota), now tasked with building Motion's outbound function from zero. Motion's GTM has historically been pure inbound (and we rock at it). Now we're building the outbound engine the best orgs run.
Here's the honest part: the function doesn't formally exist yet. The raw materials are here, the tech stack is here, the playbooks are taking shape. The recipe is what we're figuring out together. If that energizes you, this is the seat.
About The SDR Role
You'll drive net-new pipeline by hitting high-fit mid-market accounts, segmenting CRM signals (triggers, lookalikes against closed-won, re-engagement on closed-lost, event attendees, etc.) and cold ICP whitespace. Work the lists with the team. We'll define which CRM cohorts and trigger plays to attack together: lookalikes against closed-won, re-engagement on closed-lost, event attendees, intent-signal triggers, cold ICP whitespace. You'll execute against them, surface what's working and what isn't, and feed that back so we sharpen the targeting over time.
The technical foundation is in place. Our GTM team (RevOps, solutions engineer, manager of sales development) handles Clay, internal tooling, automation, and data enrichment. You bring the sales judgment and craft.
Write outreach worth replying to. Emails, LinkedIn, follow-ups, cold call openers. Real messaging that adapts to the prospect and the signal. This is the craft.
You'll use Motion's internal AI product, Runneth, to ship custom apps and personalized assets as part of high-intent plays. You're not just sending emails, you're shipping creative.
You'll work the replies tightly with your manager: diagnose intent, qualify against our SAL criteria, and convert to booked meetings.
You'll surface what's converting (and what isn't) back to the team. This is how the function compounds.
Approach prospects like future partners, not leads to be closed. We've found that a collaborative outbound process is what actually books the demos worth taking.
Be prepared to explore a new approach to outbound!
Our customers are already feeling the pain, and this problem is a top priority for them. Motion's product-market fit in this space is unmatched. When you book a meeting with the right person, you're not selling against indifference. You're showing up with the answer to a problem they're actively trying to solve.
Our ideal fit brings
We're looking for drivers (not passengers) at this point in our growth. See this article on high agency qualities to learn more!
- 1+ years of outbound or high-velocity sales experience. You've worked phone, email, and LinkedIn and know which one to reach for
- Genuinely AI-native. You're already using Clay, Claude/ChatGPT, and automation in your daily workflow with real opinions on what's worth the hype
- You write well and care about it. Strong opinions on what makes cold outreach actually work
- Volume + craft great messaging simultaneously. Most people are one or the other; we need both
- A sharp eye for list quality. You can tell when a cohort isn't converting, articulate why, and bring real reasoning back to the team to make the next one better
- Commercially sharp. Comfortable holding a credible conversation with growth and creative leaders at mid-market DTC brands and agencies
- No ego: ego typically blocks the path to improvement. We want to focus a ton on how to improve quickly and not be slowed down by ego
- Self-directed: you can set the pace, own your numbers, and don't need someone to tell you what to do once you understand the goal
- Extremely ambitious and unafraid of the grind

We closed out 2024 with a $30M Series B raise and strong signals from our customers. In 2025, we built the foundational capabilities our customers rely on, setting the stage for what's to come. In 2026, we’re building forward from that foundation, taking what we learned to market in a deeply AI-native way. The direction is clearer, the stakes are higher, and there’s a lot left to build.
