Primary Purpose Of Position

The Civil Craft Operator is responsible for operating equipment as directed and specified while following Mortenson safety policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate equipment including blade, dozer, loader, scraper, forklift/telehandler, crane, bobcat/skid-steer, boom lifts/aerial lifts, roller, backhoe, and track crane.
  • Follow prescribed safety regulations and maintain an orderly work area.
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning.
  • Read and interpret safety rules, operating manuals, and load charts.
  • Collaborate with team members and follow pre-task plans.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Teamwork orientation and positive attitude
  • Detail oriented with active listening and communication skills
  • Ability to operate machinery and perform basic math calculations
  • Independent work capability

Education and Experience

Requires equipment certifications, a minimum of one year related experience, and a valid driver’s license with the necessary endorsements.
