Summary of Responsibility

As the Applications Engineer - Tsugami Specialist, you will serve as the technical expert on Tsugami Swiss-type CNC lathes. Your role is to develop, implement, and support advanced machine processes while training and advising customers on best practices to optimize productivity and part quality.

What You Will Contribute

  • Collaborate with customers to evaluate machining needs and develop turnkey Swiss machine solutions.
  • Program and set up Tsugami Swiss-style CNC lathes for complex, high-precision components.
  • Conduct on-site and in-house training for operators, programmers, and maintenance personnel.
  • Support pre-sale activities, including machine assessments and part processing strategies.
  • Maintain technical documentation such as process sheets, setup instructions, and project reports.
  • Continuously adapt and learn new machine types and technologies.

Qualifications & Competencies

  • At least 2 years hands-on experience with Swiss-style CNC machines; experience with Tsugami, Citizen or Star is a plus.
  • Strong background in programming and setup – Fanuc controls experience preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency with CAD/CAM software.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Willingness to travel regionally for customer visits, training, and projects.
