Overview

As an Applications Engineer - Okuma Specialist, you will use your expertise in Okuma 3-, 4-, and 5-axis milling machines, CNC lathes, and mill-turn equipment to support installations, training, and process development.
Summary of Responsibility
You will act as a key technical resource, bridging the gap between machines, the sales team, and customers’ production goals.
- Collaborate with customers to evaluate machining needs and develop turnkey solutions.
- Program and set up CNC lathes, vertical/horizontal mills and mill-turn equipment.
- Conduct on-site and in-house training for operators, programmers, and maintenance personnel.
- Support pre-sale activities including machine assessments and strategy development.
- Maintain technical documentation such as process sheets and setup instructions.
Qualifications & Competencies
Applicants should have a minimum of 4 years of CNC machining experience with a strong background in Okuma machinery. Proficiency in CAD/CAM software is required, and experience with MasterCam, Esprit, Gibbs CAM, and Solidworks is a plus. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills are essential.
Additional Information
This role involves approximately 25% travel for customer visits and training, which may occasionally include overnights. Physical ability to perform moderate manual tasks is required.
