Job Summary: Data Analyst at Morningstar
Morningstar is seeking a Data Analyst, an entry-level opportunity within our Data and Operations group. This role offers practical experience with diverse datasets, including public equity filings, private market transactions, ESG taxonomies, Managed Investment Data (Funds), and reference entity data. You will enhance your knowledge of investment management, develop skills in Excel, SQL, and Power BI, and benefit from structured training for long-term success.
Work Location & Schedule
This position is permanently based in our Mumbai office, with preference for local candidates. The role requires flexibility for rotational shifts, including night shifts, supporting global operations. The work location is specifically Vashi, Navi Mumbai.
A Typical Day as a Data Analyst
- Search, collect, and verify data of basic and intermediate complexity levels.
- Address internal and client queries to ensure data alignment with methodologies and policy guidelines.
- Rapidly learn research methods and process standards to maintain productivity, quality, and timeliness.
- Collaborate with internal teams, cross-functional partners, and external parties to resolve data issues.
You will also have opportunities to innovate, improve processes/tools, and participate in stretch projects beyond core responsibilities.
Who You Are
You might be a strong candidate if you:
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree (preferably in finance) with at least 60% marks.
- Demonstrate strong English communication skills (written, oral, comprehension).
- Are proficient in MS Office tools, especially Excel and Word.
- Possess a quick learning ability and process information with ease.
- Show attention to detail, a proactive mindset, and natural curiosity.
- Effectively prioritize tasks and perform well under tight deadlines.
This role is open to fresh graduates and professionals with up to one year of experience.
