About the Role

The Associate Quantitative Analyst at Morningstar will join the Indexes New Product Development Team to participate in the full development cycle from ideation to implementation. This role involves design, development, data validation, and collaboration with global research teams and clients.

Responsibilities

  • Build next generation Benchmark Indexes across Equity and Fixed Income asset classes.
  • Validate, curate and analyze underlying data to support index methodology development.
  • Collaborate with Morningstar research, product management, and other index teams.
  • Work through the entire product lifecycle from ideation to launch.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in quantitative, engineering, mathematics, or statistics.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python or R).
  • Experience working with large datasets using Postgres or SQL Server.
  • Understanding of financial ratios, modern portfolio theory, and portfolio construction (desirable).
  • Excellent documentation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Progress towards CFA designation is highly desirable.
