The Morgan Stanley Growth & Innovation (MSGI) strategy within MSIM focuses on late-stage, growth equity investments in established, high-growth technology companies. This strategy targets category-defining companies in large, expanding markets with significant long-term growth potential. MSGI is part of the Private Credit & Equity (PC&E) platform, which has over 300 professionals managing approximately $62 billion globally across various private equity and credit strategies. Recent investments include a prominent data and AI analytics platform and a leading AI research company. This role offers a unique chance to join a dynamic, entrepreneurial team and contribute to the MSGI strategy's development, collaborating closely with senior leadership across the firm.Role Overview
MSIM is seeking an Associate/Analyst to support senior investors and decision-makers. This role is crucial throughout the investment lifecycle, involving the evaluation of investment opportunities, in-depth sector analysis, financial modeling and projections, valuation, and post-investment portfolio monitoring. Key responsibilities include:- Conducting research on macro themes, investment ideas, and target companies.
- Building financial models for company projections and transaction scenarios.
- Producing investment memoranda and supporting materials for investment opportunities.
- Coordinating due diligence with advisors and consultants.
- Monitoring portfolio company performance and engaging with management teams.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in growth equity, venture capital, private equity, or investment banking.
- Experience in technology coverage or a strong technology background is preferred.
- Proven ability to work independently, take initiative, and learn quickly.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with colleagues across Wealth Management and Investment Banking & Capital Markets.
- Demonstrated enthusiasm, self-motivation, and a team-player attitude.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
