We’re seeking a senior developer for the Client Onboarding and Regulatory Platform. In this role, you'll be involved in detailed technical design, development, and implementation of applications using emerging technology choices.

Institutional Securities Technology (IST)

Institutional Securities Technology (IST) develops and oversees the overall technology strategy and bespoke technology solutions to drive and enable the institutional businesses and enterprise-wide functions. IST’s ‘clients’ include Fixed Income, Equities, Commodities, Investment Banking, Research, Prime Brokerage, and Global Capital Markets.

Operations Technology is responsible for building and operating the technology platform catering to critical business processes at Morgan Stanley including Settlements, Confirmations, Regulatory Reporting, Position Keeping, Corporate Actions processing, and other post-trade functions. The Firm operates at scale with up to 60 million trades processed on peak volume days and several trillion dollars of daily settlements with activity ongoing in multiple countries and currencies across the globe. There is a great breadth of financial products that our Operations plant handles across equity and fixed income, from cash products to complex derivatives and loans.

Software Engineering

This is a senior developer position for the Onboarding and Regulatory platform. You are required to be a technologist with a solid command of distributed development tools and tech-stack – primarily Java and Java-based web-development, Angular, databases, frameworks for enterprise system development, enterprise integration patterns, and cloud-focused architecture and tools.

What You’ll Do In The Role

  • Work within agile squad to deliver enterprise grade, quality features to enhance and improve Lending platform.
  • Create self-contained, reusable, and testable modules and components front to back.
  • Deliver results through understanding the responsibilities of the platform, frontend user experience, backend services, database, and other components of the system.
  • Work with business stakeholders to facilitate the work-intake for the development team.

What You’ll Bring To The Role

  • 5+ years of experience in building Angular web-based applications.
  • 5+ years of experience in building Java, Restful micro-services.
  • Strong knowledge in Angular, Typescript, CSS, HTML, and Java 8+, Spring, and Spring-boot.
  • Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
  • Great communication skills and experience with client interaction.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills - will be engaging directly with business users.
  • Ability and willingness to learn new technologies and work on the same to meet business requirements.
  • Developing software with a test-driven approach (TDD, BDD).
  • Researching new technologies and adapting to requirements.
  • Self-directed reading, understanding, and using open-source code.
  • Self-directed learning new programming languages and databases.
