Fixed Income Product Controller at Morgan Stanley
Join Morgan Stanley's ISG Finance division as a Fixed Income Product Controller. You will provide critical financial analysis and business performance metrics to support senior management decisions, partnering with business units globally. This role focuses on ensuring control adequacy, precise profit and loss/balance sheet reporting, reconciliations, and comprehensive management reporting for Fixed Income products. Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate extensively with colleagues across Finance and other Firm divisions.
- Lead significant deliverables, leveraging advanced understanding of Finance, product, and client segments.
- Proactively identify and contribute to mitigating emerging risks in financial operations.
- Embody and promote Morgan Stanley's values, holding self and others accountable to Firm standards.
- Attest to the accuracy and completeness of financial statements contributing to external reports.
- Liaise with accounting policy on new trade bookings and related accounting questions.
- Build and maintain strong networks with Business Units and other divisions.
- Understand balance sheet, liquidity, and funding movements related to business activities.
- Complete ad-hoc projects and queries from senior Finance and Business Unit management.
- Manage, attract, develop, and retain talent within Finance, fostering an inclusive environment and translating Firmwide goals.
Qualifications and Experience
- Advanced understanding of Finance functional areas, product segments, and technical skills.
- Proficiency in industry and competitive environment analysis.
- Ability to provide constructive feedback and acknowledge team efforts.
- Strong ability to articulate risk and impact, developing mitigation plans.
- Excellent analytical skills for distilling complex issues into clear insights.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Proven leadership and mentoring capabilities.
- Demonstrated initiative, independence, and strong time management.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, with Power BI or Alteryx experience a plus.
- A collaborative mindset focused on continuous improvement.
- Relevant degree or professional qualification.
- Typically 4-7 years of relevant experience.
