The Opportunity: Digital Email Marketing Operations SFMC Associate

The Wealth Management Marketing Operations team at Morgan Stanley is seeking a talented email marketer and platform expert to execute communications in our digital channels, specifically leveraging the Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) platform.

You are passionate about digital marketing technology capabilities and eager to partner with marketing teams to bring programs to life and analyze results. You are focused on optimizing marketing technology platforms to personalize the digital client experience across web and email, driving engagement. You enjoy hands-on work within tools to explore new features and strategies. Your passion lies in target segments, understanding how their behaviors and interests drive engagement across all phases of the customer lifecycle, from awareness to engagement and retention. Your ultimate goal is delivering the right message, with the right offer, at exactly the right time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with project management, including conceptualizing timelines, reporting key milestones, and prioritizing tasks for stakeholders.
  • Guide and direct project team members to ensure compliance with established standards, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Manage all aspects of a project, including planning, communication, risk assessment, and resource allocation.
  • Execute marketing campaigns flawlessly and provide support to product and marketing colleagues for campaign build, testing, and execution in various marketing technology platforms, primarily SFMC.
  • Rigorously track and monitor past and current campaign performance and user behavior to recommend strategies that drive conversion and engagement.
  • Continuously stay updated on marketing technology industry trends and platform capabilities to optimize and extend marketing effectiveness in digital channels.
  • Build a center of excellence for marketing technologies, develop rigorous QA processes, create A/B testing strategies, and advise on best practices for email and web.
  • Provide value-added insights to drive marketing excellence and optimize platform capabilities for results.
  • Build strong relationships with business partners in Marketing, Product, and Technology.

Qualifications

  • Strong project management and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with creative ability to guide design.
  • Superb organizational skills, attention to detail, and process orientation.
  • 1-3 years of hands-on experience with marketing technologies, including ESP/Marketing Automation (Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Marketo, etc.). Comfortable tracking campaigns in Salesforce.
  • 1-3 years of experience with digital campaign effectiveness for clients and prospects, and cross-channel marketing programs.
  • Solid understanding of Financial Services products and the industry, particularly driving marketing efforts for Financial Advisors / Wealth Management businesses (a plus).
  • Highly collaborative, self-motivated, results-oriented, and a creative thinker.
  • Resourceful problem-solver comfortable with new technologies and concepts.
  • Knowledge of email best practices, including subject lines, messaging, segmentation, list management, deliverability, and CAN-SPAM/anti-spam laws.
  • HTML knowledge is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Technology, Operations, or a related field.
