Conversational and Generative Data AI Specialist

About the Role

Morgan Stanley's Firmwide AI team is seeking a skilled Conversational and Generative Data AI Specialist. This role is critical for building, analyzing, and refining the natural language datasets that power our AI products. You will bridge the gap between complex AI concepts and financial services stakeholders, making technical insights clear and actionable.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Data and Annotation Management: Develop and maintain clear annotation guidelines, manage end-to-end annotation workflows, and analyze output to identify and resolve issues.
• Performance Reporting and Feedback Analysis: Communicate dataset insights and quality metrics to stakeholders, recommend process improvements, and translate feedback into actionable recommendations for product and model enhancement.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in annotating, managing, and evaluating datasets for conversational AI (chatbots, dialogue systems, voice assistants) and/or generative AI (prompt engineering, evaluation).
• Bachelor’s degree in linguistics, computational linguistics, data science, or a related field.
• Proficiency in extracting qualitative and quantitative insights from large natural language corpora.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a diverse, cross-functional global organization.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate data-driven insights and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.

You Might Also Have

• Prior experience in finance, wealth management, or retail/investment banking.
• Basic proficiency in programming languages like SQL and Python for data analysis.
• Hands-on experience building a generative AI product.
