Prime Brokerage & Client Onboarding

Morgan Stanley has set the industry standard for excellence in prime brokerage, leveraging deep client relationships, a market-leading platform, and intellectual insights to provide world-class service for financing, market access, and portfolio management. Our Electronic Trading (MSET) offers global electronic access across cash equities, options, and futures, with tools including algorithms, smart order routing, and direct market access. The client onboarding and integration team engages with clients, vendors, sales, operations, and technology to onboard and support Institutional Securities/Prime Brokerage clients globally.

Role and Responsibilities

We are seeking a quality-driven, creative Client Integration/Onboarding specialist focused on onboarding clients to our Prime Brokerage platform. This role involves acting as the primary point of contact for clients and vendors regarding onboarding and connectivity. You will advise on formats, educate clients on platform functionality, connection capabilities, and expected messages. Key responsibilities include:

  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with clients and vendors.
  • Collaborating with multiple internal groups to drive tasks to completion.
  • Staying updated on market reforms, product releases, and how our offerings can meet client needs.
  • Developing a strong understanding of all asset classes and lifecycle events.
  • Creating client setups in the UAT environment for client testing.
  • Engaging with business counterparts, operations, and development teams.
  • Tracking and following up to ensure timelines are met and keeping all parties informed of progress.
  • Developing solutions that contribute to a seamless client integration experience.

What You'll Do In The Role

  • Lead the end-to-end onboarding of clients onto Morgan Stanley's technology platform.
  • Work closely with clients, internal technology teams, and operations to gather requirements, define integration specifications, and troubleshoot issues.
  • Create and maintain documentation for the onboarding process, specifications, and best-practice procedures for our electronic clients.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and a team-player mentality.
  • Exhibit a strong sense of ownership, attention to detail, and accountability for your work.
  • Utilize experience with Linux, FIX protocol, SQL, XML, CSV, Shell Scripting, Perl, PGP, and FTP/SFTP.

We are looking for candidates with at least 4 years of relevant experience. You should possess the ability to process information, translate it into actionable plans, and present clear summaries to stakeholders. An experienced understanding of the business line and discipline is essential.

Compensation and Benefits

Expected base pay for this role is between $90,000 and $150,000 annually. This is just the base salary; the total compensation package may include commissions, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, and other short/long-term incentives, along with comprehensive Morgan Stanley sponsored benefits.
