About the Role
Morgan Stanley Investment Management Technology is looking for an Associate Software Engineer to join the Sustainability Front Office Technology team. This role involves designing and developing a modern technology stack to power digital platforms, aiming to unlock efficiencies for Investment Teams. You will work closely with the Sustainability team to solve operational problems and design strategic solutions for Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) metrics. This is a global development team role.Technologies We Use
- Backend: Core Java / Spring Boot
- Frontend: Angular
- Infrastructure: Linux / Cloud Stack / Docker / Kubernetes
- Build Tools: Jenkins / Gradle
- Databases: NoSQL MongoDB / Snowflake
What You'll Do
- Design and develop modern, modular web applications with high coding and testing standards.
- Participate actively in agile ceremonies and contribute to team goals.
- Work independently using modern software development practices.
- Collaborate effectively with a global team of technologists.
- Drive innovation and lead with new ideas.
- Manage communication and partner with end-users (Sustainability team) to design solutions.
What You'll Bring
- Experience developing enterprise JAVA/Angular Web applications.
- Solid experience designing web-based components.
- Solid experience writing unit, component, and integration tests.
- Solid experience working with relational databases.
- Knowledge of JavaScript or equivalent web technologies.
- Basic understanding of financial markets and instruments.
- Strong computer science fundamentals.
