AI Strategic Oversight AVP

Morgan Stanley seeks a proactive and detail-oriented AI Strategic Oversight AVP to support the strategic and operational execution of its AI program, specifically focusing on GenAI initiatives within Wealth Management Platforms. This role requires a strong understanding of AI technologies in financial services and the ability to navigate complex projects.

Department Overview

The Wealth Management (WM) division focuses on helping individuals, businesses, and institutions manage wealth. WM Platforms specifically manages industry-leading platforms to deliver a unified digital experience, drive growth, and enhance efficiencies for Advisors, Clients, and Institutions. The Generative AI Team within WM Platforms is a key department for AI enablement, deploying advanced generative AI tools and platforms to optimize business processes, and overseeing content creation, management, and governance.

What You’ll Do In The Role

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of executive reporting and dashboards for program insights.
  • Support the oversight of the AI program's portfolio, tracking projects, identifying blockers, and monitoring outcomes.
  • Help manage dependencies and risks, ensuring timely resolution and strategic alignment.
  • Participate in establishing and maintaining an operating model through regular meetings and updates.
  • Support decision-making processes and ensure follow-through for initiative outcomes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for AI tool integration and adoption.
  • Aid in the enablement and adoption of AI initiatives through training materials and communication strategies.
  • Design and monitor key performance indicators to assess initiative impact and provide recommendations.
  • Create and maintain a consolidated view of priorities, dependencies, risks, and issues across the CAO portfolio.
  • Organize team activities, monitor budget and headcount, and track variances.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Wealth Management operations or financial services roles.
  • Proven ability to partner with stakeholders across different areas.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with a strong sense of accountability and relationship-building skills.
  • Strategic thinker capable of understanding the broader vision and identifying risks, trends, and solutions, especially when collaborating with technology and business teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong research and presentation abilities.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Independent self-starter adept at managing multiple activities under tight deadlines.
  • Strong time management skills to drive projects to completion within budget.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
