Job Description: Senior Content Manager - Healthcare

As the Senior Content Manager - Healthcare, you will lead a dedicated team of medical writers and copywriters. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure all content consistently aligns with our brand voice, effectively driving engagement and conversion, particularly with our primary target audience: Health Care Professionals (HCPs).

This pivotal role is accountable for leading the content strategy and its execution across all marketing channels within a highly regulated medical and healthcare environment. You will be instrumental in building brand authority, generating leads, fostering customer engagement, and delivering critical education through high-quality, compliant, and evidence-based content.

Success in this position demands a unique blend of strong people leadership, astute strategic thinking, meticulous attention to detail, comprehensive healthcare industry knowledge, deep regulatory awareness, and exceptional storytelling abilities to produce impactful content that directly supports business growth.

Content Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and execute a robust content strategy directly aligned with commercial objectives.
  • Lead comprehensive content planning across various product lines, brands, and campaigns, meticulously managing the content calendar for both digital and offline channels.
  • Define key audience segments, with a strong emphasis on HCPs, ensuring content effectively supports their entire customer journey from initial awareness through conversion and ultimately, retention.
  • Facilitate engaging workshops and ideation sessions to drive innovative campaign and content development.
  • Establish clear content standards, comprehensive style guides, and rigorous quality benchmarks.
  • Conduct thorough research into industry trends, customer needs, and competitor activities, in close partnership with marketing leads, to inform and refine strategy.

Content Development & Quality

  • Oversee the production of a diverse range of high-quality content, including eDMs, sales collateral, clinical education materials, onsite content, articles, blog posts, social media updates, video content, and other channel-specific formats.
  • Conduct meticulous proofreading of all content to ensure accuracy and strict adherence to the brand's tone of voice.
  • Collaborate closely with Medical Affairs, Legal, and Regulatory teams for content review and approvals, guaranteeing full medical and regulatory compliance.
  • Translate complex scientific and clinical information into clear, engaging, and audience-appropriate communications.
  • Partner with technical writers and clinical teams to ensure all content profoundly resonates with a medical audience.

Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Lead, mentor, and effectively manage a team of medical writers, copywriters, and external resources, including agencies, freelancers, and subject matter experts.
  • Work in close coordination with the Workflow Manager to optimize team capacity, manage workload, and adhere to timelines.
  • Actively contribute to Commercial Marketing leadership by identifying and removing roadblocks, continuously improving processes, and assessing resourcing needs.
  • Collaborate strategically with Marketing, Sales, Medical Affairs, Compliance, CRM, and Leadership teams to ensure content consistently supports overarching business goals, successful product launches, and key campaigns.
  • Partner with broader Montu content teams to identify valuable opportunities for alignment and synergy.

Performance, Compliance & Continuous Improvement

  • Analyze content performance metrics rigorously and apply insights to optimize strategy, effectiveness, and engagement.
  • Ensure all content strictly complies with medical accuracy standards, TGA requirements, and internal approval processes.
  • Stay continuously current with evolving industry trends, emerging technologies, and innovations in content marketing.
  • Uphold paramount brand, regulatory, and quality standards by iteratively refining work based on constructive feedback.
  • Set clear team OKRs/KPIs, monitor performance metrics (including customer satisfaction/NPS), and actively support professional development, inclusivity, and high standards of conduct within the team.

Qualifications

  • Proven extensive experience in content marketing, specifically developing and executing highly effective B2B content strategies within healthcare, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, or other similarly regulated health industries.
  • Demonstrated strong leadership capability, with a track record of building and managing high-performing teams.
  • Deep understanding of the regulatory and compliance frameworks pertinent to healthcare, coupled with the ability to operate effectively within a regulated, cross-functional environment.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and compelling storytelling skills, characterized by outstanding attention to detail and unwavering commitment to brand and quality standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver content that consistently drives engagement and achieves measurable business outcomes, underpinned by a strong analytical mindset and data-driven decision making.
  • Skilled in complex stakeholder management, adept at collaborating across Marketing, Medical, Compliance, and Commercial teams.
  • Proficient with various CMS platforms, advanced analytics tools, and project management software, exhibiting strong organizational skills and the capacity to manage multiple priorities efficiently under tight deadlines.
  • A strategic thinker and proactive problem-solver, comfortable thriving in fast-paced environments and committed to continuous learning while staying current with industry trends.
