Job Description

Internal AI Product Management Intern at MongoDB

MongoDB’s Internal AI team is at the forefront of reimagining how the company operates in the era of artificial intelligence. As global organizations re-evaluate workflows, decision-making processes, and productivity through AI, we are dedicated to building the internal systems, standards, and tools that empower MongoDB employees to achieve the same – securely, responsibly, and at scale.

Our core mission is to leverage AI to enhance the operational efficiency of teams across MongoDB, while simultaneously establishing robust guardrails to ensure high-quality, safe, and consistent implementation. We collaborate extensively across the entire organization, engaging with Engineering, Product, Operations, Finance, Sales, HR, and the Executive team. Our goal is to understand diverse needs, pinpoint high-value opportunities, and deliver AI-powered solutions that profoundly transform our ways of working.

This team plays a crucial role in supporting MongoDB’s company mission by enabling internal teams to work smarter, significantly reduce manual effort, and concentrate on strategic, high-impact initiatives.

As an Internal AI Product Management Intern, you will be instrumental in driving AI adoption throughout the company. This involves thoroughly mapping needs across various departments, identifying the most impactful opportunities, and partnering closely with engineers to deliver safe and effective AI tools. Your responsibilities may include evaluating diverse AI use cases, establishing clear standards for internal AI products, analyzing workflow challenges to pinpoint areas for improvement, and actively supporting strategic decision-making processes.

This is a hands-on, high-visibility role, perfectly suited for individuals who enjoy critical thinking about how AI reshapes work and who are eager to gain experience operating at the intersection of AI, data, product, and people.

What We Are Looking For In You

  • Is pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Has hands-on exposure to AI tools, models, or workflows (coursework, personal projects, agents, LLM integrations, etc.).
  • Thinks critically about AI—its value, its risks, and how to implement it responsibly.
  • Has strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Communicates clearly, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Learns quickly and enjoys navigating ambiguity.
  • Works collaboratively and thrives in cross-functional environments.
  • Experience with Python, R or any programming language.

Experience that’s nice to have includes:

  • Understanding of basic database structures and fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with using AI tools in workflows (automations, agents, copilots, prompt engineering, etc.).
  • Exposure to product management, AI evals, system design, or technical discovery work.
  • Have a minimum of one quarter/semester remaining in university studies after the internship concludes. Graduation date in Fall 2026 or Spring 2027.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States. Company sponsorship may be available for eligible candidates applying for certain roles.
