Overview

MongoDB empowers innovators to create, transform, and disrupt industries with software and data. The Forward Deployed Engineer, AI will drive customer success by building and deploying AI solutions using MongoDB Atlas, cloud technologies, and generative AI.

Role & Responsibilities

This role involves working closely with strategic customers to design, prototype, and deploy AI systems. Key activities include:

  • Embedding with strategic customers to understand their business and technical requirements.
  • Designing and implementing end-to-end AI solutions with iterative development.
  • Developing scalable, secure, and performant applications using MongoDB Atlas and cloud platforms.
  • Leading technical architecture alignment and quality assurance.
  • Engaging with emerging AI technologies to refine customer solutions.
  • Collaborating with Sales, Solution Architects, and Professional Services teams.
  • Contributing to internal knowledge sharing and best practice development.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate has:

  • 5+ years in software development, customer engineering, or solution architecture.
  • At least 2 years focused on AI solution design and implementation.
  • Expertise in full-stack development (Python, Node.js, Java; React, Angular, Next.js).
  • Experience implementing AI like RAG systems and LLMs for real-time applications.
  • Hands-on experience deploying AI applications in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Understanding of modern development practices including CI/CD and microservices.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% for customer engagements.

Bonus Points

  • Advanced degree in AI, Data Science, Machine Learning, or related fields.
  • Experience in R&D within data science or AI/ML domains.
  • Familiarity with AI ethics, governance, and compliance frameworks.
