About the Role: Senior Quantitative Developer at Mondrian Alpha
Mondrian Alpha, a leading multi-strat hedge fund, is seeking a Senior Quantitative Developer to play a pivotal role in building a state-of-the-art, multi-asset investment platform. This platform is critical for Portfolio Managers, Risk teams, and the Office of the CIO.
This is a hands-on, front-office-adjacent engineering position where you will be responsible for designing and scaling core pricing, analytics, and portfolio/risk workflows using C#/.NET. You will partner directly with world-class quants and PMs, delivering systems vital for real-time decision-making.
Join a small, high-impact Quantitative Development team that manages essential front-to-back infrastructure, encompassing messaging, data models, APIs, and observability. You will drive platform standards, reliability, and modern engineering practices across the firm.

- Take ownership of projects from conception to completion: gather requirements from PMs, Quants, Risk, and Data teams, produce technical designs, and deliver production-grade software.
- Architect and extend distributed, messaging-driven systems to ensure low-latency and reliable data and analytics delivery.
- Contribute to defining and enforcing platform standards for APIs, messaging schemas, data models, testing strategy, and deployment processes.
- Enhance platform reliability through improved observability, performance tuning, and robust failure handling; participate in on-call/support rotations for business-critical systems.
- Mentor other engineers, actively participate in design and code reviews, and serve as a technical leader within the Quantitative Development team.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience with profound expertise in C# and the .NET ecosystem.
- Strong background in designing and building distributed, real-time systems utilizing messaging technologies.
- Solid T-SQL skills and practical experience with data modeling for high-throughput analytical applications.
- Proven ability to deliver robust, high-quality software in fast-paced, high-stakes environments.
- Exceptional communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills; comfortable working directly with PMs, quants, risk managers, and other key stakeholders.
Nice to Have
- Experience with real-time risk analytics platforms.
- Familiarity with React/Angular front ends.
- Proficiency in Python interoperability with .NET.
- Experience with Excel-based tooling.
- Knowledge of modern observability/CI/CD/containerization stacks (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus, Kubernetes, TeamCity/GitHub Actions).
