Job Description

Legal Counsel, Product, Technology & Governance at monday.com

We are monday.com, a global software company transforming how businesses run. Our product suite can adapt to the needs of diverse industries and use cases within one powerful platform, empowering ~245,000 customers worldwide to reimagine how work gets done, drive greater efficiency, and scale like never before.

With over 2,500 employees across the globe, we grow by prioritizing transparency and knowledge sharing. We care about the impact you make, not the hours you clock, so we encourage initiative, ownership, and fresh thinking. We back our people with flexible work, wellness and mental health support, and a work environment built on collaboration.

We are seeking a highly motivated Legal Counsel to join our Product and Technology Legal team. This is our first product-focused legal role in the UK, working alongside our commercial legal colleagues in the region.

As part of the global Legal-Tech team, you’ll closely support our UK and EU development teams and advise on product counseling, governance, AI, data privacy, and technology regulation. You’ll collaborate with Product, R&D, Security, BI, and Sales to drive innovation while ensuring compliance in an evolving regulatory landscape.

This is a unique opportunity to scale monday.com’s governance strategy, and position the company at the forefront of technology, privacy, and regulatory compliance, contributing to our global strategy, risk management, and regulatory engagement.

About The Role

  • Monitor and analyze EU/UK and global regulatory and policy developments, including AI, data governance, and digital regulation. Identify emerging issues and translate them into actionable business strategies and advice
  • Develop and implement governance frameworks, playbooks, and compliance processes to support cross company alignment and accountability. Advise on the legal aspects of product development throughout product lifecycle, from ideation to launch
  • Partner closely with Product and R&D teams to ensure legal, privacy, and governance considerations are built in from day one
  • Provide practical, business oriented guidance on legal risks for new and existing products, features, and go to market initiatives
  • Support R&D and Product teams in embedding ‘legal by design’ into product development
  • Counsel on privacy and data protection matters, ensuring compliance with UK/EU and global data protection laws (including AI governance and security standards)
  • Build and deliver internal training and guidance on governance, privacy, and regulatory compliance for cross functional teams
  • Draft, negotiate, and manage a variety of technology, licensing, marketing, and IP agreements
  • Support marketing initiatives, ensuring compliance with privacy, IP, consumer protection and advertising laws
  • Contribute to IP strategy, including trademarks, patents, and enforcement where relevant
  • Collaborate with global legal teams to ensure consistent approaches to technology, privacy, and governance across regions

Requirements

  • Qualified to practice law in the UK
  • 5+ years of relevant experience, ideally as inhouse product counsel in a technology company
  • Experience assisting global technology companies in launching new products and services, advising on AI, SaaS, data governance, and technology partnerships.
  • Deep knowledge of UK/EU regulatory frameworks (GDPR, AI Act, NIS2, etc.) and understanding of global digital, privacy, and AI developments
  • Strong ability to translate governance and regulatory trends into practical guidance
  • Strategic thinker with strong business judgment, ownership mentality, problem solving skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly motivated, collaborative and proactive, with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in cross functional teams in a global environment.
