Senior Financial Analyst – Regulatory Reporting & Healthcare Finance (Remote)
Job Summary
Provides senior level analyst support for finance activities including financial analysis, reporting, forecasting, trending and modeling to support planning for future business decisions for the Kentucky Health Plan.
Essential Job Duties
- Gathers, interprets and evaluates financial information, generating forecasts, and analyzing trends in medical/pharmacy expenses.
- Research and provide pharmacy trends in specialty areas and new emerging drugs.
- Oversight of various financial transactions and processing monthly and quarterly directed and pass-through payments, Oversight for all provider escrow accounting including state reporting, escrow creation and releases, internal reporting.
- Creation and oversight of various purchase requestion payments.
- Review of general and administrative costs to ensure consistency with budgeting and recommendations involving updates to forecast.
- Preparation of the annual quality survey for the Kentucky health plan.
- Develops policies and procedures to support finance activities.
Required Qualifications
- At least 3 years of finance experience, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong critical-thinking and attention to detail.
- Ability to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong time-management skills, and ability to manage simultaneous projects and tasks to meet internal deadlines.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite products, including key skills in Excel (VLOOKUPs and pivot tables), and applicable software program(s) proficiency.
Preferred Qualifications
- Effective and efficient use of SQL for data extraction and analysis.
