About the Role

Mercor, in partnership with a leading AI research organization, is seeking senior legal professionals from top 14 U.S. law schools to validate and benchmark AI-generated legal content. This role leverages deep legal reasoning expertise to inform how AI systems analyze and generate sophisticated legal analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate AI-generated legal documents for accuracy and coherence.
• Draft and score sophisticated legal reasoning questions to benchmark model performance.
• Provide expert analysis on U.S. legal frameworks, case law interpretation, and litigation strategy.
• Design test scenarios simulating real-world legal challenges.
• Assess AI outputs against professional standards of top-tier legal practice.

Candidate Profile

You must hold a J.D. from a top 14 U.S. law school and have at least 2 years' experience at a top-tier law firm, federal or appellate clerkship, or an elite in-house legal department. Exceptional legal writing, critical analysis, and familiarity with U.S. legal frameworks are required. Candidates from U.S., Canada, New Zealand, UK, or Australia are encouraged to apply.

What is Offered

• Premium hourly rate of $125-$175 for U.S.-based professionals.
• Remote and asynchronous work.
• Flexible commitment: 10-20 hours per week over a 6-8 week project with extension potential.
