Business Administration Assistant - Chemicals Trading Division

Mitsui & Co. (Australia) Ltd. (MCA) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Administration Assistant to join our Chemicals Trading Division, based in our Melbourne Head Office. This is a permanent, full-time position, with a fixed-term option available.

Role Overview

This role involves business coordination and providing administrative support to the Chemicals Division. Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with contract administration and trading activities.
  • Handling customer inquiries and commercial coordination.
  • Preparing documentation for the trading business.

About You

We are looking for a proactive individual with 3-5 years of experience in business coordination and documentation within trading, importing, or exporting. You should possess:

  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong collaboration skills with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Tertiary qualification or part qualification in International Trade or a relevant business discipline is preferred.
  • Completion of a Business Administration or import/export course is advantageous.
  • 3-5 years of experience in business support, trading assistance, or logistics coordination (chemical, trading, or industrial sectors preferred).
  • Solid commercial understanding of international trade transactions.
  • Working knowledge of Incoterms and shipping documentation.
  • Experience with trade-related banking transactions (letters of credit, TT payments).
  • Familiarity with coordinating logistics vendors and freight forwarding.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); SAP or ERP experience is a plus.
