About The Role
The QA Automation Engineer will focus on creating and executing the automation testing strategy using Mission’s BDD framework. Reporting to the Quality Engineering Manager, you will develop and maintain an automated test suite with Selenium, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, and ensure compliance with Mission’s quality standards.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and execute automated tests using the BDD framework.
- Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, developers, and third party teams.
- Prioritize test script creation based on risk and timelines.
- Advocate for quality and create mitigation strategies for code base maintainability.
- Maintain and report automation results, integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines.
- Create and maintain a scalable automation framework.
- Analyze test failures, log defects, and work with developers to resolve issues.
- Stay updated with trends and continuously improve test automation practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- 2+ years of automation and quality engineering experience.
- Experience with tools like Azure DevOps, JIRA, ALM for test management.
- Industry experience with P&C insurance and Policy Administration Systems.
- Ability to travel up to 10% annually.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Selenium (Java) based automation.
- Familiarity with modular and microservice architectures.
- Experience in automated tests for APIs, backend, and data ingestion.
- Knowledge of version control tools (Git).

Outstanding organizational and multitasking skills, strong time management, analytical and problem-solving capabilities with excellent communication skills.
Working Conditions
This role requires a quiet workspace for long hours at a computer, frequent hands use, and effective verbal communication. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, focus and depth perception.
Additional Information
This is a remote position with occasional in-office activities (typically 2-4 times per year). Applicants must be based in the United States and authorized to work without sponsorship.
